Waller Oaks Counseling, led by Monica Starovic, LPC, is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized mental health support to children, adolescents, and adults. With over 26 years of experience, Monica specializes in working with individuals facing Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), helping them navigate life’s challenges with effective strategies and emotional support. At Waller Oaks Counseling, we take a client-centered approach, tailoring treatment to meet each person’s unique needs. Our practice offers evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These therapeutic approaches have been proven effective in treating a variety of mental health concerns such as anxiety, trauma, depression, and stress. We aim to help individuals develop healthier coping mechanisms, build self-esteem, and achieve lasting positive change in their lives. In addition to traditional therapy, we offer animal-assisted therapy with Dakota, Monica’s therapy dog. Dakota, a gentle Catahoula/Great Pyrenees mix, adds a calming element to the therapeutic process. Animal-assisted therapy is beneficial for those who may feel anxious or apprehensive about therapy, fostering trust and emotional connection in a safe, non-threatening environment.
